Try things you have never done
Freshers fairs are packed with societies for every interest imaginable. Go to a few taster sessions even if they are outside your comfort zone. Some of the best friendships start in unexpected places.
Give it time
Deep friendships rarely happen in the first week. Keep showing up, be open to different people and do not panic if it takes a term to find your crowd. It is completely normal.
