Take on a real challenge for a real organisation. Open Door Challenge gives students and recent graduates the chance to work on something a charity, social enterprise or small organisation actually needs help with — no made-up assignment briefs, just genuine work they can use.
What's involved
- A flexible project lasting around 4 weeks
- Roughly 10–15 hours in total
- Fits around study, work or other commitments
You'll get

- An Open Door Challenge certificate
Who can apply? Students and recent graduates who are curious, reliable and willing to learn. You don't need lots of experience, and your degree doesn't have to match the challenge — we're interested in your skills, interests and what you'd like to learn.
